Welcome Back My Friends — An Evening with Emerson, Lake & Palmer
featuring CARL PALMER
One of the most influential and virtuosic drummers in rock history returns to the stage with a career-spanning tribute to the band that changed music forever.
Carl Palmer — founding member of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and the legendary Asia — brings “Welcome Back My Friends” to the Mount Dora Music Hall for one unforgettable evening celebrating the ELP catalog in its full progressive-rock glory.
Joined by acclaimed guitarist Paul Bielatowicz and multi-instrumentalist Simon Fitzpatrick, Carl reimagines ELP’s groundbreaking compositions — “Lucky Man,” “Karn Evil 9,” “From the Beginning,” “Fanfare for the Common Man,” “Hoedown,” “Tarkus,” “Pictures at an Exhibition,” and more — in a format that honors Keith Emerson and Greg Lake while showcasing the musicianship that defined one of progressive rock’s greatest trios.
This is not a tribute band. This is Carl Palmer — the man who sat behind the drum kit on every ELP record — leading his hand-picked ensemble through the music he helped create. For prog rock fans, classic rock devotees, and anyone who appreciates virtuosic musicianship at the highest level, this show is essential.
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the ELP legacy live, from the drummer who built it.
