About this Event
An Evening with Denyce Graves
Cocktails • Conversation • CARMEN
Join North Carolina Opera for an intimate evening with legendary mezzo-soprano and acclaimed director Denyce Graves on Thursday, October 1 in The Chancellor's Room at the Park Alumni Center at NC State University.
One of the most celebrated opera artists of our time, Graves has captivated audiences on the world’s great stages and became renowned for her unforgettable portrayal of Carmen. Now, as she prepares to direct North Carolina Opera’s upcoming production of CARMEN, you’re invited to spend an evening getting to know the artist behind the legend.
The evening’s conversation will be hosted by Leoneda Inge, host of WUNC’s Due South.
Enjoy Spanish-inspired cocktails and light bites before settling in for an engaging conversation with Graves about her remarkable career, her connection to one of opera’s most iconic characters, and the artistry behind bringing CARMEN to life from the director’s chair.
Elegant, personal, and filled with stories from a life in opera, this special evening offers a rare opportunity to experience Denyce Graves beyond the stage and hear firsthand from the woman bringing her vision of CARMEN to Raleigh.
