Born and raised in Mt. Holly, N.C., David Childers has written hundreds of songs, and recorded nearly 20 albums on various record labels. Childers and his band, The Serpents, have played extensively in the SE for more than 20 years. They have performed on the prestigious Mountain Stage and played festivals such as MerleFest, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, AmericanaFest, Albino Skunk Fest, Avetts at the Beach, and more.Childers has collaborated with members of The Avett Brothers for years. He joined the Avetts on stage at the Greensboro Coliseum, to sing his song, “The Prettiest Thing,” which they have covered since 2011. Bob Crawford of The Avett Brothers has called Childers “a great friend, a great thinker and a great man … a true North Carolina treasure.”
Abe Partridge is a heralded musician, singer/songwriter, visual artist and podcaster based in Mobile, Alabama. His 2018 debut, Cotton Fields and Blood For Days, earned him rave reviews.
Since then, Partridge has toured relentlessly, including several tours of the Netherlands and the U.K. developing a reputation for moving, passionate, and sometimes comedic, performances. He has performed on the syndicated radio programs Mountain Stage and Woodsongs Olde Time Radio Hour and is a regular at prestigious songwriter and art festivals around the Southeast.
In 2022, Partridge released the “Alabama Astronaut” podcast where he explores songs previously undocumented at serpent handling churches in Appalachia. It was in the Top Ten documentary podcasts on Apple Podcasts within days of the release.
