Gathering Volumes is pleased to welcome acclaimed journalist and author Brian Alexander for a conversation celebrating his newest book, The Mayor.
Alexander is known for deeply reported, compelling books that examine the forces shaping American communities and the people living through extraordinary change. In The Mayor, he turns his attention to the complicated realities of civic life, leadership, and what happens when the future of a community is at stake.
This promises to be an engaging evening of conversation about cities, communities, leadership, and the choices that shape the places we call home.
Brian Alexander, author of Glass House and The Hospital and winner of the Ohioana Book Award, is a contributing writer to The Atlantic. He’s written for the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Esquire, among others. He’s spoken at The Obama Foundation Summit, and in Washington to members of the Senate and House of Representatives. He lives in San Diego.
Join us for an evening with one of the country's most thoughtful chroniclers of contemporary America as we celebrate the release of The Mayor.
