Meet Author Aaron John Curtis
We're thrilled to welcome Miami author Aaron John Curtis for a special event celebrating the paperback release of his debut novel Old School Indian, an astonishing coming-of-middle-age debut about an Ahkwesáhsne man’s reluctant return home. Old School Indian is a striking exploration of the resonance of love and family, culture and history.
About Aaron John Curtis
A mixed-race member of the Akwesasne Nation, Turtle Clan- half his mother’s Mohawk Indian (Kanien’kehá:ka) and half his father’s Scotch-Irish. He was born in Syracuse, NY and attended Syracuse University as a Musical Theater Major when the program was ranked third in the country (he was in a Minorities in Theater group with Taye Diggs and did lights for Vera Farmiga’s one-woman La Vie En Rose). After twenty years as an independent bookseller at Books & Books in Miami (and four years at Borders before), Curtis published his first novel, Old School Indian.

Want to ensure your copy of Old School Indian is reserved? This is the ticket for you! This ticket comes with a copy of the book which you will receive upon check-in at the event. If you buy this ticket and are unable to attend, you will be contacted post-event with options of how to obtain your signed copy. Please ensure all your information is correct. Books not claimed will only be held for 30 days, after that the book is forfeit and will be shelved. If you need your book shipped, please contact the store.
- General Admission
Already have a copy of Old School Indian? We've got a ticket for you too! This option allows you access to the event without having to purchase a book. All proceedes go directly to Writer's Block Bookstore to help ensure we're here for the long haul and can continue to host fantastic events just like this one. Thank you for supporting Indie!
Refund Policy: Refunds will be processed up until 7 days prior to the event. ONLY 'Book with Ticket' tickets are eligible for a refund and ticket fees and taxes are not refundable. 'General Admission' tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.
