About this Event
An Evening of Jazz with Taras Luka & Special Guest John Nicholson
Join us for a special evening of live jazz featuring Ukrainian-Canadian award-winnig composer, pianist, and accordionist Taras Luka, alongside special guest John Nicholson on saxophone.
Recently returning from a concert tour across the United States, Taras Luka brings fresh musical experiences from an exciting season of international performances. His recent engagements in New York included two sold-out performances of his original live score for Man With a Movie Camera, as well as a guest artist lecture and presentation at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Taras Luka is a Ukrainian-Canadian composer, pianist, accordionist, arranger, and music director whose artistic work bridges jazz, classical music, and contemporary musical traditions. His performances combine expressive improvisation, rich harmonies, and a distinctive musical voice shaped by his international experience across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
For this special evening, Taras will be joined by saxophonist John Nicholson for a musical journey through jazz standards, improvisation, and vibrant musical conversations between piano and saxophone.
