About this Event
Step into the timeless world of swing, elegance, and groundbreaking jazz. Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the life, legacy and musical genius of the great Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington.
Duke Ellington famously refused to be boxed in by labels, preferring to call his art simply “American Music”. From his historic tenure at the Cotton Club to his global symphonic suites, Ellington shaped the soul of 20th-century music.
The Andrew Greenwood quartet brings the iconic tunes, lush harmonies and high-energy swing of the Duke Ellington era back to life. Experience a carefully curated setlist featuring timeless classics and fan favourites, including
- Don’t Get Around Much Anymore
- It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing
- African Flower
- Take the A Train
Whether you are a lifelong devotee of the big-band era or discovering the genius of “The Duke” for the first time, this performance promises an electric night of rhythm, style and soul.
