Join New York Times Betselling author Anna North (Bog Queen) in conversation with Karen Bloom Gervitz (The Apothecary's Wife) for an evening of Bog Lore and history on Sunday, Oct. 18, 5-6.30pm at the Ardmore Public Library, 108 Ardmore Ave, Ardmore, Penna.
Celebrate the paperback release of Bog Queen with a visual journey into bogs, bog people, medicine, and the occasional Druid. This author talk is free and open to all. RSVPs are strongly encouraged to attend. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
Anna North is the author of America Pacifica, The Life and Death of Sophie Stark, and the instant New York Times bestseller and Reese’s Book Club pick Outlawed. She is a senior correspondent at Vox and lives in Brooklyn.
Karen Bloom Gevirtz has been working at the intersection of science and the humanities since college at Brown University, where she was an English major and a research assistant in a neurochemistry lab. After earning a PhD at Emory University, she spent almost 30 years in academia as an English professor, affiliated with programs in Women and Gender Studies and in Medical Humanities. She is now a full-time writer. Kirkus Review named her most recent book, The Apothecary’s Wife: The Hidden History of Medicine and How It Became a Commodityone of the Best Nonfiction Books of 2024.
