Gavin Extence is an award-winning novelist whose work has been translated into over twenty
languages. His first novel, The Universe versus Alex Woods, was part of the Richard and Judy Summer Book Club, topped the Amazon Kindle Christmas charts, and went on to be an international bestseller. As of 2026, he has written six books for adults and children, and is currently working on his
seventh, The Missing Years, which is due to be published next year.
Gavin was born in Boston in 1982 and grew up in Swineshead. He now lives in Sheffield with his wife, children and cat. As part of Swineshead library`s 10th anniversary celebrations, Gavin will be talking about his life as an author at 2 p.m. on Sunday 27th September at Swineshead Methodist church. All are welcome to attend.
