Ami moves from indie-folk into more jazz-influenced songs. She bares her soul about life and family on some of the original songs from her latest album, then will have you laughing at her take on Al Pacino’s lifestyle choices. Then a heart-felt tribute to Slim Dusty’s life-long companion and song-writing buddy Joy McKean, and the tragic story of suffragette Emily Davison. Ami mixes in some classic folk covers, a haunting piano original The Soldier’s Wife, and some hilarious feminista songs like the Mother-in-law Song - and then a send-up of her early days with the Australian Opera.
