About this Event
As the first light returns following the New Moon, we enter a period of integration, a time to nurture new intentions and allow what has been stirring beneath the surface to take shape.
The New Moon represents the fertile darkness from which new beginnings emerge. The days that follow invite us to move gently from intention into awareness, giving space to what is beginning to unfold.
Ambient States is an intimate evening of deep listening and meditation, featuring original ambient music by Kasia and audio-reactive visual art by Laser Tech.
Through field recordings, evolving harmonies, and layered sound frequencies, guests are invited to lie down, close their eyes, and travel inward. As the music unfolds, original projections respond to the sound in real time, filling the gallery with shifting colours and abstract imagery.
There is nothing to achieve and no particular state to reach. Simply an opportunity to rest and allow the music to unfold.
New Moon Integration
The New Moon is traditionally associated with beginnings and the unseen potential of what has yet to emerge.
As the lunar cycle begins to grow, we are invited to consider what we wish to cultivate and what may need more time to develop.
This evening offers space to sit with those intentions, honour the unknown, and allow new possibilities to emerge without forcing an outcome.
The Listening Experience
Guests are welcomed with herbal tea before settling into a softly lit gallery for a continuous journey through ambient music and responsive visual art.
Candlelight and atmospheric lighting create a quiet setting, while sound-reactive projections move across the gallery walls. Guests are welcome to enjoy the visuals or simply close their eyes and listen.
Following the music, there will be time to rest quietly before returning to the outside world.
The Space
Ambient Meditation takes place at Platform 4, a contemporary art gallery in Vancouver's Railtown neighbourhood.
Located on the fourth floor, the 2,000-square-foot gallery features high ceilings and open architecture. For this evening, the space becomes an intimate listening environment, with music and light moving together throughout the room.
Attendance is limited to preserve a comfortable and personal atmosphere.
