About this Event
Gather in Petersburg for a youth altar-making workshop and an evening of community connection.
Hosted by the Haus on Market Foundation, Night of Altars invites participants to explore altar making as a practice of remembrance, reflection, and connection.
The afternoon begins with a youth altar-making workshop from 4–6 PM, followed by a community night and reception from 6–8 PM.
Join us for an opportunity to create, share, and consider what we choose to honor together.
Part of Altars Festival 2026
Altars Festival brings people together through communal altar making, conversation, music, film, and wellness. Taking place November 1–7 in Richmond and Petersburg, this year’s festival centers on reconciliation, repair, and reconstruction: acknowledging the histories we carry, tending to relationships and communities, and considering what we can build together.
Whether you join us for one gathering or several, we invite you to reflect, connect, and participate.
