Kruttika Susarla is an illustrator and cartoonist from Andhra Pradesh, India, working across editorial illustration, picture books, lettering, and comics. She collaborates with community-engaged organizations in the US and the Global South to create books, zines, and toolkits.
Her narrative work is bright, bold, and textural. Kruttika’s work for The Freedom Sisters (Pratham Books, 2024) won a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators (SOI). It was juried into the Illustrators 67th Annual Exhibition in NYC and was exhibited at the 2026 Bologna Children’s Book Fair as part of SOI’s exhibit.
Her self-published comics tell stories of connection, community, and labour. Her comics have been exhibited internationally, including at the Erlangen Comic Salon in Germany and the Fumetto Comic Festival in Switzerland. In 2026, she won the MoCCA Arts Festival Award of Excellence for Albo! (self-published, 2025) and in 2025, she won the Paper Rocket Publishing award for Alexander’s Curse (self-published, 2024).
Kruttika lives and works in the United States.
Kit Cactus (she/they) is a cartoonist, illustrator, writer, comedian and clown in Salt Lake City. After receiving a BFA in fine arts with an emphasis in drawing and painting, she has transitioned to making more comics and performance art. She recently published her first graphic novel "Psychopomp" which was released at Legendaium books. Her trans and disabled identities are central in her work and her writing often has an emphasis on community.
Remi is an illustrator and zine creator who takes her real life mishaps, awkward moments and the ordinary chaos of every day life that never quite stops and turns them into illustrations and zines. From her Hawaiian heritage to growing up in Provo, UT. From being a twin to being an auntie/nanny Remi uses her life experiences and the messy magic of everyday life as the template for her illustrative drawings, comics and zines. Armed with too many pens and binders full of collected collage supplies she creates small tangible booklets of illustrations and comics that can be given and traded to others as tiny invitations to connect on a human level. She’s less interested in getting things “right” and more interested in getting them true, even if true looks a little silly on paper. She truly believes that life should be drawn, folded, stapled, and shared.
