About this Event
The POP Montreal international music festival and the ARCMTL archive centre invite you to take part in a guided tour exploring the Montreal music and arts scene that developed along both sides of the Mile End train tracks from the mid 1990s to 2000s.
From venues such as Hotel 2 Tango, La Plante and Redbird in the deep Mile End along Van Horne, to Lab Synthèse, Silver Door and many more on the Mile Ex side, for some twenty years Montreal’s underground and experimental art and music scenes found safe spaces along the tracks.
This brand-new guided tour launches with this one and only session, helping to celebrate both the 25th edition of POP Montreal and the 20th anniversary of the ARCMTL archive centre’s current locale in the Mile-Ex. This inaugural edition will be hosted by ARCMTL Director and longtime scene fixture, Louis Rastelli.
The meeting point for the tour will be the northwest corner of Park Ave. and Beaubien O.
Mainly in English, with a bilingual tour guide.
