Join us at the Allen + Pfleghaar Studio at the Tanglefoot Building on Grand Rapids’ West Side for two days of art, conversation and a rare look inside our working studio.
TOMMY ALLEN | POLAROID + IMAGE TRANSFER
In celebration of one of Tommy Allen’s large-format 20×24 Polaroid image transfers being accepted for exhibition at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM), Tommy will share work tracing his history with Polaroid photography and the experimental process of image transfer from the 1980s forward.
See works ranging from his intimate, smaller transfers from his NYC exhibitions to the large-format Polaroids created through a process that pushed—and sometimes creatively hacked—the possibilities of popular instant film.
MICHAEL PFLEGHAAR | PAINTING + CERAMICS
Michael Pfleghaar is also celebrating the addition of two more works to GRAM’s permanent collection. For the Open Studio, he’ll present a selection of recent landscape paintings alongside new interior works and ceramics.
And for those looking ahead to the holidays, Michael will offer special Open Studio pricing on selected ceramic works from his archives.
Come see the work, meet the artists, explore the studio and spend some time inside one of Grand Rapids’ longtime creative spaces that began in 1989.
