About this Event
Four sessions over two days, on campus: two workshops, a startup showcase by MS in Artificial Intelligence students, and The Social Skills Lab. Free and open to everyone. Bring a laptop.
Thursday 5 November
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Workshop: Virtualization Meets AI: Building Smart Infrastructure with Proxmox VE and MCP
Prof. Leonardo Baldizón, Adjunct Professor, School of Information Technology, Atlantis University
Explore how virtualization and artificial intelligence are transforming modern IT infrastructure. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to deploy and manage virtual machines, Linux containers, and virtual networks using Proxmox VE. The session will also introduce Model Context Protocol (MCP) and demonstrate how AI-powered tools can interact with virtualized environments to streamline infrastructure management and automation. Participants will explore best practices for secure AI integration, resource optimization, and virtualization security.
2:00 to 5:00 PM · Startup and project showcase
Students of the MS in Artificial Intelligence pitch the startups and projects they are building, in pre-seed format: 20 minutes of presentation, then 10 minutes of questions from the room.
Presenting, in no particular order: Yosef Zonana, Waqar Javed, Axel Peluso Nieto, Khaled Jaber, Andrea Herrera and Felipe D'Alvia.
Friday 6 November
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Workshop: The AI Challenge Lab: Pick Two, Build One
Prof. Alex Lima, Campus Director, Atlantis University
A hands-on team workshop. Teams choose two of these six challenges and combine them into one deliverable project, working with ChatGPT along the way.
- Build a virtual company in 90 minutes: product, business model, pricing, marketing, financial projections and an investor pitch.
- AI detective: find the fraud, anomalies and falling sales hidden in 1,000 customer transactions, and recommend fixes.
- Build your own AI agent: e.g. an admissions advisor or a career coach, with instructions, knowledge, decision rules and test cases.
- Beat the AI: plan deliveries to 15 locations with limited vehicles and deadlines by hand, then improve the plan with AI.
- Predict the future: flag which of 100 industrial machines are at risk of failing, and recommend preventive maintenance.
- Humans vs. AI: decide five business dilemmas yourselves, then compare the AI's recommendations and challenge its reasoning.
2:00 to 5:00 PM · Activity: The Social Skills Lab: Build, Practice, Connect
