St. John’s Choir (and friends) Michael Milam, conductor
Sumner Jenkins, organist
As we celebrate the saints in our lives, past and present, we dedicate this year’s All Saints Memorial Concert to the memory of David-Charles Campbell (1959–2026), Minister of Music at St. John’s from 2000 to 2019. A gifted musician, David-Charles founded the Music on the Corner concert series and established the tradition of the All Saints concert. The program opens with a selection of organ works performed by Sumner Jenkins, Organist and Choirmaster of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lynchburg. The concert continues with a performance of Bob Chilcott’s Requiem, presented by the St. John’s Choir and guest singers, accompanied by chamber ensemble, under the direction of Michael Milam, Minister of Music at St. John’s.
Bob Chilcott (b. 1955) is an internationally acclaimed British composer, conductor, and former member of the The King’s Singers. Renowned for his expressive melodies and beautifully crafted choral writing, Chilcott has composed a wide range of sacred and secular works that are performed by professional, collegiate, church, and community choirs throughout the world.
