ALL ABOUT DA BOOGIE
This DJ-led club session was created during the COVID lockdowns by the DJ team of Perry Louis (JazzCotech) and Aitch B (Soul360). Together, Perry and Aitch showcase Boogie, the legendary music style that started their journey on the UK club scene in the late 1970s and early 1980s, to them and many others. Boogie is where it all began.
After their paths had crossed on countless occasions via London and international stages, it was a chance meeting over a record that truly brought them together. The track? “We Have Had Enough” by Arnie’s Love & the Lovelettes. That moment sparked an instant connection, revealing their shared musical journeys and a deep mutual passion for 70s & 80s funk, rare groove, disco, jazz funk, and boogie—the very sounds that dominated iconic clubs such as 100 Club, Crackers, The Royalty, Global Village, and Lyceum.
Then, during one of the latter stages of COVID, an opportunity arose to host a Sunday afternoon session at The CLF Arts Lounge, and that's when All About Da Boogie began to evolve from a concept to becoming' draws on musical influences including Funk, Rare Groove, P-Funk, Jazz-Funk, Brit-Funk, Soul,' and thus sparking a modern-day resurgence of the boogie and funk scene whaich has inspired many high-profile DJs to revisit their vinyl boogie roots.
Boogie draws on musical influences including Funk, Rare Groove, P-Funk, Jazz-Funk, Brit-Funk, Soul, and Disco.
