The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
7.30am - Welcome and introductions
8.00am - Talk Title: Small business visibility in the AI search era
If AI can’t find you, neither can your new customers.
For years, small businesses were able to win online visibility by ranking on Google. Now AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews are increasingly answering customer questions directly, often citing sources rather than sending people to a results page to browse and decide for themselves.
We’ll break down what's changed, why the old search engine optimisation (SEO) staples no longer guarantee visibility, and what small businesses need to do instead: how AI tools choose what to cite, why structured, authoritative content matters more than keyword density, and practical steps owners can take straight away to improve their odds of being the answer, not just a result on page one.
You’ll leave with an understanding of how AI search actually works, why old SEO tactics fall short, and how good PR, earning genuine coverage and mentions rather than just presence on your own website, builds visibility with people and AI alike.
Our Speaker is: Melanie Boulter is head of client services at Be Bold, with ten years' experience in PR and a background in digital and social media. She is working with clients on the shift to AI visibility, where PR is proving its worth in a search landscape that no longer runs on links alone.
8.30am - Business updates, Recommendations and information exchange
9am - Close
