Sunshine Cathedral Center for the Performing Arts presentsAll Aboard the SS Sunshine Cathedral with Jai Rodriguez
With a career in entertainment spanning nearly three decades, Emmy Award-winning host and performer Jai Rodriguez first stepped onto the Broadway stage at just 18 years old, taking on the iconic role of Angel in RENT. He went on to appear in Broadway productions including The Producers and originated the title role in the beloved Off-Broadway musical Zanna, Don’t!
In 2003, at just 23, the world got to know Jai as one of the original stars of Bravo’s culturally groundbreaking hit Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, where his work as the show’s Culture Expert earned him an Emmy Award.
Over the more than 20 years since, Jai has carved out a remarkably diverse career across stage and screen. He starred opposite Neil Patrick Harris in the Netflix series Uncoupled and was part of the principal cast of Judd Apatow’s feature film Bros. His extensive television credits also include Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, The Rookie, and a current recurring role on The Young and the Restless. Along the way, Jai has had the extraordinary opportunity to sing on stage and television alongside legendary artists including Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Taylor Dayne, and Brian McKnight, to name just a few.
Now Jai is bringing nearly three decades of show-business stories—and the powerhouse vocals that started it all—to audiences across the country with his live cabaret shows. Expect an evening that moves effortlessly from classic yacht rock and Top 40 favorites to Broadway showstoppers, all woven together with hilarious, candid stories from a life spent on Broadway, television, and everywhere in between.
Come for the music. Stay for the stories. And expect to laugh—a lot.
