About this Event
Algo Trading: Use AI to Automate Your Stock Trading Strategies
Transform your trading strategies and rules into an automated trading system using AI and Codex. Learn to build, test, execute, monitor, and optimize your trades.
Presented by Dorsey Technology Solutions (DTS) in Frisco, Texas.
You may already have a stock-trading strategy with clear rules for buying, selling, and managing positions. Turning those rules into working software can feel like the hard part.
This hands-on workshop shows you how to bridge that gap using AI. Learn to describe your rules in plain English and use ChatGPT and OpenAI Codex to help build software that monitors market conditions, tests strategies against historical data, and automates trade execution according to instructions you define and approve.
You’ll practice in a simulated trading environment, review whether the software follows your rules, and learn how to identify problems before considering live trading.
You bring the strategy. Learn how to build the technology around it.
Who this course is for
Individual stock traders, investors interested in rule-based trading, and curious learners who want to understand trading automation.
No prior programming experience is required for the guided exercises. Basic familiarity with stock trading and comfort using a laptop will help you get the most from the workshop.
What you’ll learn
- Turn your strategy into precise rules: Define entry and exit conditions, position sizes, trading hours, and conditions for stopping.
- Build with AI and Codex: Translate plain-English instructions into a working prototype, understand the generated code, and troubleshoot problems.
- Backtest and paper trade: Evaluate your rules using historical data and simulated trades, accounting for fees, slippage, and the limitations of hypothetical results.
- Automate execution: Practice submitting simulated orders when your predefined conditions are met.
- Build interactive dashboards: Use AI to help create displays that track orders, positions, performance, market data, and alerts. Data availability and update frequency depend on the selected provider.
- Reduce repetitive monitoring: Create alerts and workflows that respond to conditions you choose.
- Add safeguards: Incorporate order and position limits, duplicate-order protection, stale-data checks, activity logs, and an emergency stop.
- Evaluate and refine: Compare test results, investigate unexpected behavior, and approve changes before they affect execution.
What you’ll work on
During guided exercises, you’ll build and test a simple stock-trading automation prototype using an illustrative strategy and simulated funds. You’ll practice defining rules, reviewing AI-generated code, monitoring simulated execution, and interpreting results.
You’ll also develop a checklist for further testing and refinement. The classroom project is a learning prototype; additional validation is needed before any live use.
Included: one-hour individual online follow-up
Your tuition includes a separate, one-hour, one-on-one online session focused on implementing and troubleshooting your own trading-automation project.
Bring your questions about coding, data connections, dashboards, testing, or translating your predefined rules into software. Guidance focuses on the technology; you remain responsible for choosing your strategy, assets, and risk parameters.

Important information
DTS provides technology education and technical implementation training, not personalized investment advice or stock recommendations. Participants choose and approve their own strategies and trading decisions.
Classroom exercises use simulated funds. Trading can result in substantial losses, and automation can submit unintended or incorrect orders. Backtested and simulated results are hypothetical and do not guarantee future performance. Any transition to live trading requires additional testing, appropriate brokerage authorization, and your affirmative decision to activate the system.
Refund policy
Refund requests are accepted up to 7 days before the course starts. Submit a request through your Eventbrite order or email [email protected] with your order number. DTS will respond within 5 business days. Eventbrite fees are handled according to Eventbrite’s refund rules.
Regardless of the 7-day cutoff, DTS will provide refunds required by Eventbrite’s Organizer Refund Policy Requirements, including cancellation or nonperformance, postponement without rescheduling within 90 days, material differences from the advertised event, and qualifying venue-access or safety failures.
