Violinist Alexi Kenney -- an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award winner -- brings his signature tone, quicksilver virtuosity and insightful interpretations to this dynamic program, alongside rising star pianist Janice Carissa, a Gilmore Young Artist and winner of Salon de Virtuosi. The duo takes us on a musical journey around the world, from throbbing rhythms of nuevo tango to works that look both forward and back, with Sibelius and Britten exploring dance forms from the past, Schnittke’s soulful sonata, and the Houston premiere of rising star violinist-composer Michi Wiancko’s The Wild Yes.
