An embodied ritual for honoring what we’ve lost, what we’re shedding, and what is becoming.
Grief is not reserved only for the loss of a loved one.
We grieve relationships, identities, dreams, homes, friendships, missed possibilities, former versions of ourselves, and seasons of life we weren't quite ready to leave behind.
As autumn reminds us that shedding is part of the natural cycle, Alchemizing Grief is an invitation to turn inward and make space for the transitions, endings, and losses we carry within us.
Through grounding practices, somatic movement, embodied expression, reflection, ritual, and restorative sound, we'll explore grief not as something to fix or rush through, but as something that deserves to be felt, witnessed, and given room to move.
This is not about forcing yourself to ""let go."" It is about listening to what your grief has to say, allowing the body to express what words sometimes cannot, and gently exploring what may emerge when what we carry is given space to change form.
Come exactly as you are. There is no expectation to share your story, cry, perform, or experience grief in any particular way.
Like the trees shedding their leaves, we gather to honor what has been, tend to what remains, and make space for whatever season comes next.
Please note: Alchemizing Grief is a facilitated wellness experience intended for personal reflection, embodied exploration, and community connection. It is not group therapy or a substitute for professional mental health care. Participation and sharing are always optional.
You will need:
A high quality yoga mat. (studio mat rentals are $5)
Water (we have a water refill station in studio)
Blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are available for you to use at no additional charge
We totally understand that things come up! If you’re unable to attend, please cancel at least an hour in advance through your Momence app. If you don’t cancel ahead of time your drop-in or class credit will be forfeited.
