On October 19, Albertans will be asked to vote on , questions that could shape public policy, community life and the operating environment for nonprofits across the province.
Nonprofits have an important role to play. As trusted community organizations, we can help people understand what is being asked, participate in informed conversations and overcome barriers to voting, all while remaining nonpartisan.
With the deadline to request a special ballot approaching, now is the time to get informed and help your community get ready.
Please join Alexa Briggs and Celia Lee from the Nonprofit Chamber for a practical conversation designed for Lethbridge nonprofit leaders. We will:
- Break down of all 10 questions and why they matter to the nonprofit sector
- Share the Chamber’s referendum resources, including the
- Explain what nonprofits and charities can, and cannot, do during a referendum
- Discuss practical ways to support staff, volunteers and community members to participate
- Answer questions and hear what local organizations are seeing in their communities
