Alay Lakad 54th Anniversary For more than five decades, one movement has walked beside the Filipino youth. One name has become synonymous with hope, service, and shared progress. This is Alay Lakad.
We celebrate fifty-four years of walking together. What began in 1972 as a nationwide mission to uplift out-of-school youth and underprivileged children has grown into a living legacy of education and opportunity.
Alay Lakad was born from a simple belief: every young Filipino deserves a chance to dream, to learn, and to succeed. Through education, through community, through action — we have walked that path together.
Our journey has been marked by national recognition and enduring commitment:
In 1974, Proclamation Number 1267 declared “Alay Lakad Para sa Kabataan Day.”
In 1986, Proclamation Number 27 moved our observance to September.
In 1988, Proclamation Number 289 fixed it to the first Sunday of September.
And in 1993, Proclamation Number 168 recognized Alay Lakad Foundation, Incorporated as the lead agency.
And now — we mark our 54th Anniversary!
Join us on November 22, 2026, starting at five o’clock in the morning, at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park, Manila.
Let’s walk side by side once again — for the youth, for our nation, for the future.
This journey would not be possible without our incredible partners:
Hosted by Rotary International District 3810, lead by National Committee Chair Gov. Bing Carrion
Co-hosted by Lions International,
And proudly joined by Kiwanis International Philippine Luzon District — and all our allied organizations.
Together, we serve. Together, we build.
Fifty-four years of walking together.
Fifty-four years of serving together.
Fifty-four years of building together.
Let’s keep moving forward — for a brighter future for every Filipino youth.
See you on November 22. Let’s walk with purpose!
Alay Lakad — A Legacy of Service, A Future of Hope.
