About this Event
Join Algalita for a guided kayak experience through Alamitos Bay, where we’ll paddle together to explore local biodiversity, visit favorite ecological hot spots, and learn what makes each area of this urban ocean unique.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace, with plenty of time to observe wildlife, talk about bay ecology, and experience the water from a new perspective. This outing is designed to be accessible to beginners and welcoming to anyone curious about the bay — no prior kayaking or science experience required.
📍 Meeting Location:
We’ll meet at Kayaks on the Water in Alamitos Bay (5411 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803)
🛶 Kayak Rentals:
While this is a free, guided event, participants will need to rent their own kayaks directly from Kayaks on the Water.
- Rental cost: $14 per person, per hour
- Total rental cost for this event: $28 per person (2 hours)
🏊 Important requirement:
Participants must know how to swim, per Kayaks on the Water’s safety policy.
