Is your dog ready to take their manners to the next level?Join FurBabies & Friends for our AKC Canine Good Citizen CGC Prep Class in Glendale, AZ. This 6-week positive reinforcement dog training class is designed to help dogs and handlers prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test while building better real-world manners, stronger obedience, and calmer public behavior.
The CGC test focuses on 10 practical skills every well-mannered dog should know, including polite greetings, loose leash walking, sit, down, stay, recall, calm behavior around other dogs, handling, and reaction to distractions.
This class is a great next step for dogs who have completed beginner obedience or already have solid basic skills and are ready to practice around real-world distractions.
In this class, we will work on:
Polite greetings with people
Sitting calmly for petting
Grooming and handling comfort
Loose leash walking
Walking through a small crowd
Sit, down, stay, and release
Coming when called
Calm behavior around another dog
Confidence around distractions
Supervised separation
The final class includes the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Kristie is an approved AKC CGC Evaluator and will administer the evaluation.

Requirements:
Dogs should have completed a basic obedience class or have equivalent foundation skills. Dogs should be able to work safely around people and other dogs in a small outdoor group setting with limited to no reactivity. Current rabies, distemper/parvo, and Bordetella vaccines are required.
