We're excited to announce our first kids' class on Tuesday, 13 October from 6-7pm at the Club. Led by the Chair of our Youth Program, our inaugural class will begin at the beginning. She will talk about the three main types of rocks, how they're formed, and how to recognize them. She'll include information on the rock cycle and the different ways rocks are broken down. Even better - there will be freebies for the kids to take home. This is mostly for grade school kids, but all ages are invited to attend.
This is just a start. We're open to ideas on other types of classes and events we might hold for the kids. As a reminder, kids can always attend our field trips with their parent(s) or guardian(s).
Note: Shop equipment is for use by members only. Kids 16-18 years old may use the equipment, but must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian.
