About this Event
From the way ideas are sparked to how films are produced, AI is rapidly becoming one of the most transformative creative tools of our time — and Miami Dade College is proud to help our community understand and harness this technology. Join VC Miami for an inspiring evening as we explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the art of storytelling. From the way ideas are sparked to how films are produced, AI is rapidly becoming one of the most transformative creative tools of our time — and Miami Dade College is proud to help our community understand and harness this technology.
We’ll kick off the event with a brief, accessible introduction to AI led by Miami Dade College’s AI Center. You’ll learn what AI actually is — beyond the buzzwords — and how it works at a high level. We’ll break down the core concepts, why it’s advancing so quickly, and what it means for creators, students, and industries across Miami. Then, stay for a dynamic panel discussion featuring filmmakers, producers, and creative professionals who are using AI in real time to expand what’s possible in their craft.
Whether you're a student, a creative professional, or simply curious about the future of storytelling, this event will provide both inspiration and practical insights into the new frontier where technology and creativity intersect.

Speakers:
David Turk is a filmmaker and executive creative director of David Turk Creative, with a background spanning video production, animation, and brand storytelling. He combines traditional production techniques with generative AI to develop commercials, visual narratives, and social content, including virtual productions and AI-assisted campaigns for New Era Cap, SeaWorld, Barry’s, Ford, and more.
Beyond client work, he shares original sci-fi and animated shorts on social media, exploring imaginative worlds through Unreal Engine and AI-assisted storytelling. His visual series '2062', a sci-fi animation series has reached over 10 million views on social media.
His work explores practical applications of AI across the creative process, from concept development and image generation to video, voice, and post-production. He brings a working filmmaker’s perspective to the evolving technology, with an emphasis on experimentation, resourcefulness, and keeping story and human creative judgment at the center.
Alex D. Lugo is an award-winning actor, filmmaker, software engineer, and the Co-founder and CEO of FilmPro, an AI-powered operating system for film productions. Born in Puerto Rico and raised between Los Angeles and Miami, Alex’s work is shaped by his multicultural roots and artistic heritage as the son of Daniel Lugo, an iconic Latin American film and television actor. He is an alumnus of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the founder of Vitruvian Films. On the tech side, Alex built his engineering career at Goldman Sachs and Square, where he specialized in backend systems and AI integration. Today, through FilmPro, he is reimagining the future of filmmaking, building technology that empowers storytellers while protecting the human creativity at the heart of every great story.
