The CIBSE Sustainability & Young Energy Performance groups invite you to an evening of conversations around AI in built enviornment.
About this Event

Note: The event was orginally planned for 23rd April, but has been postponed to 13th May 2026, Wednesday due to anticipated tube strikes.


The CIBSE Sustainability Group (SSIG) & CIBSE Young Energy Performance Group (YEPG) are pleased to invite you to an evening of interactive discussions and presentations exploring the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future of building design, performance, and operation.

As the construction industry continues to embrace digital transformation, AI is increasingly influencing energy modelling, building performance analysis, project delivery, and operational optimisation. This session will bring together indsutry experts to explore how AI is being applied today, what challanges remain, and how it can support better decision-making across the project lifecycle.

Our four speakers:

  • Dr Sharon Richardson – Head of AI, Hoare Lea
    Industry expert perspective on AI adoption within engineering consultancy and practical applications in projects.
  • Hansen Wang - Founder & CEO, Plannos
    Insight into how AI-driven tools and digital platforms are being used to improve construction delivery and data integration.
  • Ed Wealand - Chief Product Officer, Longevity Partners
    Perspective on how AI is influencing building simulation, performance prediction, and compliance workflows.
  • Andrew Targell - Managing Director of Technology Consulting, JLL
    Discussion on how AI supports smart building management, monitoring, optimisation, and real-time performance improvements.

Doors will open at 5:45 pm with presentations kicking off at 6:15 pm followed by a Q&A session. After the session there will be an opportunity for networking and we aim to close things out by 7:30 pm.
