Aging is often treated as something to resist — a decline to be fought off with more effort, morerigidity, more control. This session offers a different orientation of aging as a dynamic condition
that we all experience in different ways.
We'll explore a few yoga philosophical principles:
● Anitya (impermanence)
● Sthira and Sukha (steadiness and ease)
● Vairagya (non-attachment) and Abhyasa (devoted practice)
● Santosha (contentment)
Together these ideas reframe aging as an invitation into inner freedom and wisdom.
Session Structure
● 45 minutes — Philosophical Discussion & Tea
A relaxed conversation exploring these concepts together, shared over tea. Space for
questions, reflection, and stories from your own experience of aging — no yoga
experience necessary.
● 45 minutes — Yoga Practice for All Levels
An accessible sequence focused on joint mobility, stability, and breath. The sequence
will include appropriate support aimed towards ease, not intensity. As yoga is an
experiential practice in nature, this is an opportunity to embody what we discuss.
Registration required.
