But is your home working with you or against you? In this essential session, senior technology expert Anne Goldberg cuts through the high-tech jargon to show you practical, real-world tools that protect your safety without invading your privacy, making independent living safer and simpler. Learn how smart home technology can manage everything from home security, emergency response, fall prevention and more to give you and your family peace of mind. Come and learn how to leverage today’s tech to live comfortably, safely, and entirely on your own terms. Performance is 60-70 minutes, with no intermission.
Anne Goldberg, 74, is a dedicated educator, author, and the founder of Savvy Senior Tech. Since 2013, she has taught thousands of South Florida seniors aged 65 to 103 across various living communities. Expanding on her educational work, she published the smartphone guide Take This Phone and Shove It! A Frustrated Senior’s Guide to Smartphones in late 2025. Her regional impact was highlighted in May 2026 when she served as a featured panelist at the Alliance for Aging Conference in Miami, which focused on "Aging in the Age of AI." Inspired by these discussions, she is expanding her business to include comprehensive Aging in Place (AIP) solutions to help seniors maintain independent living.
Outside of teaching and consulting, Anne resides in Boca Raton. She is a mother of two, a grandmother to three granddaughters, and shares her life and home with her partner, David, along with their two cats and parakeet.
