Travel through history and around the world in this exciting month-long mask-making class for children. Young artists will explore the cultural traditions and stories behind masks from different regions and time periods, learning how masks have been used in celebrations, theater, ceremonies, and storytelling.
Students will sketch original designs and build their own wearable masks using cardboard construction techniques and paper mâché sculpture. Throughout the class, children will learn how to shape forms, add texture, paint details, and bring their creative characters to life.
This hands-on class encourages imagination, creativity, and artistic problem-solving while introducing basic sculpture and mixed-media techniques. By the end of the month, each child will complete a unique, fully decorated mask inspired by both historical traditions and their own creative ideas.
Perfect for imaginative kids who love building, painting, and exploring art from around the world.
