An Afternoon with a Vulcan Navigator
Hear the story. Meet the navigator. Work as a crew. Fly the Vulcan.
Join us at FlightDeck PC in Wigan for a very special afternoon with Don Chadwick, who served as a Vulcan Navigator during the early 1960s.
Don will share first-hand experiences from his time operating as part of a Vulcan crew during the Cold War, followed by an audience Q&A session.
After the presentation, guests will move from hearing about the aircraft to experiencing it.
Working together as a team, you’ll take part in a short low-level Vulcan flight in the FlightDeck PC simulator, using communication, navigation and teamwork to complete the mission.
Don’s published recollections cover RAF navigation training, operational Vulcan service, Quick Reaction Alert, low-level flying and overseas operations, giving guests a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone who lived that history.

Don Chadwick’s guest presentation, audience Q&A, a team-based Vulcan simulator experience, and the opportunity to meet Don and talk about his experiences.
10% of ticket sales will also be donated to Vulcan to the Sky Trust, helping support the continuing legacy of the Vulcan.
The event is hosted by Ken Eckersall, Department for Transport Aviation Ambassador and founder of FlightDeck PC and The Immersive Hub.
This is designed to be a small, personal and interactive aviation heritage experience rather than a large lecture, so places are deliberately limited.
