About this Event
Join author and creative, Rosie Steer, on Saturday 14th November at 3:30pm for afternoon tea to celebrate the publication of her beautiful, cosy guide to finding glimmers, even amongst the hardest times and the darkest winters, Gloaming.
Rosie Steer’s Celtic ancestors celebrated micro-seasons all-year round. Honouring these mini milestones has enabled her to reclaim wintertime, transforming it from something to fear into something to savour.
Gloaming is a collection of cosy crafts, soul-nourishing recipes and slow living activities inspired by stories and traditions from Scottish folklore, divided into four ancient seasons:
· Hairst (harvest)
· Samhain (Hallowe’en)
· Howe o’the Year (winter solstice)
· Waretym (earliest spring).
Revel in Rosie’s step-by-step projects such as Clay Pressed Botanical Imprints and an Upcycled Hot Water Bottle Cover; relish her easy-to-make bakes such as Spiced Pumpkin Loaf Cake and Clementine and Almond Buns; and soak up folk stories of Scottish wintertime.
A selection of cakes and a hot drink will be included in your ticket. This event is on our mezzanine level which is accessed by stairs, if you have concerns about accessibility please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Rosie will be treating us to a craft demonstration from the book.
