Get ready for a fascinating journey into one of the most powerful and remarkable parts of who we are: the human brain.
About this Event

A Conversation on Learning, Adaptation, and the Ever-Changing Human Brain

Join a neuroscientist and professor for Neuroplasticity: How Your Brain Changes With You, an engaging exploration of the brain's remarkable ability to adapt, reorganize, and change throughout our lives. Our brains are constantly responding to what we think, feel, practice, experience, and pay attention to. Together, we'll discover how everyday experiences, habits, emotions, and challenges can shape the way our brains work and how stepping outside familiar patterns can open the door to new ways of thinking.

What We'll Cover:

How your experiences shape your brain - Explore the science of neuroplasticity and discover how learning, habits, emotions, attention, and repeated behaviors can strengthen and reshape neural pathways.

How to “play mind games” with your brain - Learn how curiosity, novelty, unexpected challenges, perspective shifts, and mental exercises can disrupt automatic thinking and encourage your brain to approach things differently.

The power of stepping outside your comfort zone - Discover what happens in the brain when we encounter new experiences and challenges, and how intentionally engaging with new ideas can support learning, creativity, and personal growth.

Whether you're interested in neuroscience, psychology, learning, creativity, mindfulness, leadership, or simply curious about how your mind works, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of neuroplasticity and a new appreciation for the remarkable ability of your brain to change with you.

About The Speaker:

Dr. Aysegul Gungor Aydin is a neuroscientist, researcher, and Assistant Professor at the Biomedical Research Institute of New Jersey, whose work explores fascinating questions about the human brain and how it adapts through learning and experience. She has built her career studying neuroplasticity, learning, memory, and auditory brain function, with research that helps us understand how our experiences can actually shape the way our brains work. Her scientific work has contributed to our understanding of the biological changes that occur in the brain as we learn, adapt, and interact with the world around us. Her academic journey has also included work with Rutgers University and the Rutgers Brain Health Institute, where she was actively involved in the neuroscience community and served in a leadership role with the Postdoctoral Alliance Working Group, supporting the professional development of emerging researchers.
