Dive into the age-old debate of nature vs. nurture—are we born this way, made this way, or a little bit of both?
About this Event

A Conversation on Nature, Nurture, and the Journey of Becoming Who We Are

Join a developmental psychologist and professor for The Psychology of Becoming You: How Nature, Nurture, and Experience Shape Who We Are, an engaging exploration of one of the most fascinating questions in science. Together, we'll uncover how our early genetics and lifelong experiences combine to shape us, and why no two developmental paths look exactly alike. From before birth to where you are right now, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the science behind how we grow, learn, and change.

What We'll Cover:
  • How nature and nurture work together - Explore how early genetics set the stage and how experiences, starting before birth, shape who we become.
  • Why every path is unique - Learn how individual developmental trajectories explain why people with similar starts can end up in very different places.
  • How our surroundings shape learning - Discover how our environments, experiences, and even screens and digital media influence how we learn and grow.

Whether you're fascinated by psychology, curious about how you became you, or simply wondering why you and your siblings turned out so differently, you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for how our experiences shape us.

Don't miss this chance to connect with your After5Society.
