About this Event
It is Black History Month and we have a special treat for you - here is your opportunity to join Danny Thompson – historian, author, lecturer and certified tour guide – for a fascinating exploration of African artefacts in the British Museum’s collections.
Through a selection of ancient and medieval objects, Danny will explore the techniques, stories and meanings behind the artefacts, looking beyond the objects themselves to learn more about the African societies and individuals who created them.
The tour offers an opportunity to discover African history through material culture and to gain a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship, knowledge, traditions and experiences represented within the museum’s collections.
