Please join us for the Africa and the World Arts Symposium, taking place October 15–17 in Belleville, Ontario. This immersive three-day event invites the community to experience African culture through interactive workshops, academic seminars, a communal dinner, and a grand finale performance.
The interactive workshops offer participants a hands-on introduction to batik making, African drumming, dance, spoken word poetry, and traditional storytelling. Led by professional artists and heritage keepers, these sessions offer a deeper understanding of African culture while highlighting global connections. A standout percussion workshop will bring together African, Indigenous, and European drums to explore shared rhythms, inviting participants to share their own cultural histories and experiences with percussion.
