Housing costs do not begin with the mortgage payment. Zoning, permitting delays, taxes, regulations, labor shortages and construction costs all affect what families ultimately pay.Join the AFP Monroe Community Chapter on October 14th for a practical conversation about economic freedom and housing affordability.
Across Monroe, families, workers and employers feel the effects of housing costs, permit delays and barriers to new opportunities. We will explore the issue in plain language, hear how it affects local residents and complete an achievable action together.
Participants will leave with a local-barrier worksheet and a clear next step for sharing one community concern. No previous policy experience or involvement with AFP is required. We welcome residents who want to learn, meet their neighbors and help improve their community.
Dinner will be provided. Registration is requested so we can plan accordingly
