About this Event
The workshop will be three hours, including a short break. It is designed for experienced aerial yoga students, new instructors and those who are considering becoming aerial yoga teachers.
The programme will include:
• the role and responsibilities of an aerial yoga teacher;
• essential safety principles, contraindications and risk awareness;
• hammock and studio safety checks;
• class structure and adapting exercises for different levels;
• clear verbal cueing, demonstrations, spotting and assisting;
• supporting beginners safely;
• emergency procedures and the boundaries of an assistant’s role;
• practical supervised teaching exercises.
Suitable participants may then be invited to assist aerial yoga classes at the studio. Their supervised hours can be recorded in the log as evidence of practical experience. With sufficient assisting and supervised teaching experience, a competency assessment, First Aid training, and confirmation of the studio’s insurance requirements, they may later progress towards occasional cover teaching.
After the workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance and an Assistant Practice Log. This is not a full teacher qualification, but it provides an introduction to the profession and a structured pathway into supervised studio practice.
