Honest conversations about perimenopause & menopause advocacy across sexual health, mental health, the workplace, and public policy.About this Event
Perimenopause can begin earlier than many women realize, sometimes starting in the mid-to-late 30s, and the first signs aren't always the ones we expect.
And perimenopause doesn't happen in a vacuum. It can affect our physical and sexual health, relationships, mental well-being, careers, and the way we navigate healthcare, workplaces and other systems that weren't necessarily designed with this stage of life in mind.
Advocacy in Perimenopause: Sex, Mental Health, Workplace & Policy brings together four Michigan voices for an honest, practical conversation about understanding what's happening, knowing what questions to ask, and advocating for what you need throughout the menopause transition.
Each speaker will bring her unique perspective to one area of advocacy, from sexual health and mental health to the workplace and public policy. We'll then bring those perspectives together for a panel conversation exploring where these issues intersect, followed by an audience Q&A.
Who is this for?
This event is for women in their mid-30s, 40s, 50s and beyond who want to better understand perimenopause, recognize changes that may be happening in their bodies, prepare for what's ahead, and become stronger advocates for themselves.
You don't need to know whether you're in perimenopause to belong in this room. If you're wondering what to expect, noticing changes you can't quite explain, already navigating perimenopause or menopause, or simply want to be better informed before you get there, this conversation is for you.
It's also for partners, friends and others who want to better understand and support the women in their lives.
Tickets are $30 + applicable fees and include snacks, refreshments and the chance to win curated raffle prizes from our event partners.
