Advent Vespers & Christmas by CandlelightFriday, December 18 | Sanctuary Opens at 5:30 p.m. | Vespers 6:00–6:30 p.m.
In the midst of the busyness of December, come make room for a little beauty, stillness, and Christmas joy. Our annual Advent Vespers & Christmas by Candlelight returns on Friday, December 18, featuring the beautiful music of the Washington High School Madrigal Singers. The candlelit sanctuary will open at 5:30 p.m. for quiet contemplation, with the Vespers service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Through music, candlelight, and the quiet beauty of our sanctuary, we’ll have an opportunity to step away from the holiday rush and simply receive the gift of the season. Following Vespers, the celebration will continue in Fellowship Hall with a festive Christmas by Candlelight dessert reception.
Help Us Set the Tables!
Part of the fun is seeing Fellowship Hall transformed for the evening, and we need table decorators! Individuals, families, groups of friends, or church groups are invited to “adopt a table” and decorate it in your own holiday style - elegant, whimsical, traditional, colorful, or whatever Christmas finery brings you joy. We also welcome donations of special Christmas treats and finger-food desserts to fill our tables and share with our guests. Talk to Pastor Heather to reserve your table.
Come for the quiet beauty of Vespers. Stay for sweets, conversation, and Christmas cheer as we celebrate the season together.
