🎶 Celebrate the Advent season with a special morning of music at First Presbyterian Church! We warmly invite the Knoxville community to join us on Sunday, December 6, at 11:00 am as our Sanctuary Choir presents Joseph Haydn’s beautiful Missa Sancti Nicolai (Saint Nicholas Mass) in G Major during worship. This beautiful choral work has a special connection to December 6. Haydn composed the Mass in honor of Saint Nicholas, and it premiered on December 6, 1772, the Feast of Saint Nicholas. More than 250 years later, we are excited to share this historic work on the very same date!
Under the direction of Scott Scheetz, our Sanctuary Choir will be joined by a small chamber orchestra and four talented soloists: Liz Elliot, soprano; Maddy Wolfenbarger, alto; Eric White, tenor; and guest soloist Tony Deaton, bass.
This special Advent worship service is free and open to the public! Whether you are a longtime member of First Presbyterian, a lover of classical choral music, or looking for a beautiful way to experience the Advent season, we would love for you to join us.
Come experience the beauty of this timeless music as we celebrate the season of Advent together. All are welcome!
