Join us for our annual service of lessons and carols for Advent as we prepare for the coming celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. There will be readings by a number of our parishioners (the 'lessons'), and the carols will be a mix of congregational hymn singing and anthems sung by our choir. This year, the choir will sing:
Advent Responsory (Marlow)
Adam lay y bounden (Matthew Martin)
The Spirit of the Lord (Elgar)
Alma redemptoris mater (Palestrina)
The Angel Gabriel (arr. Malcolm Archer)
O sapientia (plainsong)
Magnificat on Plainsong Tones (Wills)
Faire is the Heaven (Harris)
Please note this service will be in place of our usual Sunday Sung Evensong service.
