This workshop is offered by Improv Central in Alameda, CA.With a focus on spontaneity, three-dimensional character development, and deep partner connection, we’ll discover how to improvise emotionally grounded two- and three-person scenes with a strong beginning, middle, and end. We’ll explore scene structure, environment, relationship, emotional needs, dramatic conflict or dramatic alignment, and the “emotional archaeology” that allows us to make our scenes longer by bringing our characters deeper. No more hoping that a helpful teammate will edit your scene when you don’t know what to do, or that a merciful lighting improviser will bring down the lights at the next big laugh! This workshop will empower you to stay in the moment, fulfill your character’s emotional journey, and bring your scenes to a satisfying conclusion.
