Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Select and perform appropriate stretching and strengthening interventions to improve flexibility, strength, function, and prosthetic performance.
- Demonstrate and teach fitness modifications for individuals with above- and below-knee amputation.
- Analyze the biomechanics of walking and running with a prosthetic device and identify opportunities to improve gait efficiency.
- Educate individuals following amputation about available community resources and opportunities for recreation and physical activity.
Continuing Education
Approved for 5 Continuing Education Hours through the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
