About this Event
This special 90-minute experience will introduce participants to the movement, musicality, character development, and storytelling skills required of a Broadway performer. Participants will learn Broadway-style choreography inspired by the energy and theatrical world of Mrs. Doubtfire while exploring how professional performers bring intention, personality, and narrative to movement.
The experience will conclude with a question-and-answer session, giving participants an opportunity to learn more about professional auditions, rehearsals, touring, maintaining a performance schedule, and life as a working musical-theatre artist. A photo opportunity with the guest artist is also included.
This workshop is presented by Empower School of Movement in connection with the national tour’s visit to Durham. Registration covers the workshop, Q&A, and photo opportunity. Tickets to the DPAC performance are sold separately.
Participants should wear comfortable movement clothing and jazz shoes, dance sneakers, or clean athletic shoes.
