About this Event
Understanding the rights of Children and Young People in Education can be challenging. Falkland House School would like to welcome you to a presentation by Iain Nisbet, one of Scotland's leading Lawyers in Education Law.
After a brief introduction to Falkland House School, Iain will lead a presentation on Additional Support entitlements in Scotland and how to access them. Topics include:
- The 2004 Additional Support for Learning Act
- Individual Education Plans
- Co-ordinated Support Plans
- Placing Requests
Following the presentation, there will be the opportunity for a Q&A session with Iain and the leaders from Falkland House School. The event is open to parents and representatives from advocacy and support groups. If your child is experiencing difficulty in accessing an education provision that understands and supports their particular needs and strengths, this event will be of benefit to you.
