The Adams Morgan Fall PorchFest returns Saturday, November 7, from 12–5 PM, bringing more than 100 live performances to porches, patios, parks and businesses throughout Adams Morgan. This fall, the free neighborhood-wide music festival is expanding with the debut of the Adams Morgan PorchFest Market, adding local vintage, art, jewelry, and makers to an afternoon already filled with live music and neighborhood exploration.Presented by the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) Adams Morgan PorchFest draws tens of thousands of music lovers to Adams Morgan twice each year and was recently named Best Neighborhood Festival by Washington City Paper. Attendees can spend the afternoon moving between performances while stopping into the neighborhood’s restaurants, bars, and shops along the way.
New this fall, the Adams Morgan PorchFest Market will transform two areas of the neighborhood into shopping destinations alongside the music. Created in collaboration with Golden Hour Collective and Dupont Little Flea Market, Vintage on 18th and Arts on Belmont will feature local vintage collectors, artists, jewelry designers, makers, and other independent vendors. The new market gives attendees another way to discover and support local businesses and creatives throughout the afternoon, and perhaps even get an early start on holiday shopping.
Music remains at the heart of Adams Morgan PorchFest, with performances curated by Pipkin Creative spanning Go-Go, rock, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, pop and more. This fall’s lineup includes the Ron Moten’s Go-Go Truck, FutureBandDC, which blends Go-Go, Hip-Hop, Soul and R&B, Oddisee, and Marilyn Hucek appearing on this season of The Voice, along with the return of the School of Rock Youth Stage, showcasing the next generation of local musicians.
Businesses throughout Adams Morgan will also get in on the festivities. Because Science will invite visitors to experiment with sound-reactive science and see whether they can make its plasma ball glow using their voices. Restaurants, bars and retailers throughout the neighborhood will offer additional ways to take a break between sets, with Adams Morgan PorchFest wristband specials to be announced in the weeks ahead.
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy Adams Morgan’s restaurants and bars throughout the day, including permitted beer gardens and sidewalk cafés. PorchFest is not a “sip and stroll” event, and alcoholic beverages may not be carried between establishments or consumed in public spaces outside legally permitted areas.
